The potters wheel is an ancient craft that fascinates many people, and here at Peacock Pottery Barn we offer a range of classes and opportunities for all ages and stages.
Children's clay to finished pot sessions
for ages 6-15 years. A short one-to-one session with one of our potters to make a pot. Sessions are available weekdays during school holidays. It costs £25.00 to have a throw on the potters wheel. Your pot will be fired to bisque, you then return to decorate it before it is glazed and fired to a finished pot. The complete process in 2 visits!
Potters Wheel Experience Sessions
£48.00 per person. For ages 16+. This is a session for total beginners and is an ideal way to introduce yourself to the Potters Wheel and have some fun. This session lasts for around an hour and a quarter and starts with an introduction from the Potter. You will have the opportunity to make two pots under the Potters guidance. The price includes the bisque firing of two pots and a decorating session with glaze firing at a later date. Small friendly groups of up to 4 available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10:30am during school term times, Saturdays and Sundays at 10:30am and 2pm. Adult Classes - Learn the Basics
£120 for 4 sessions. For those who wish to learn the art of potting, and designed to follow on from the above Potter's Wheel Experience session, we offer classes to learn the fundamentals of pottery. Sessions usually last for around 2 hours. The class includes tuition and the bisque firing of one pot (additional pots made can be fired at an extra cost) Small friendly groups of up to 4. Book classes in 4 weekly blocks and progress at your own pace, learning new skills and taking time to practise the skills you have gained until you feel ready to throw pots independently. Available on selected weekdays during school term time.
